Privacy-First Design
NICU Mate operates with a strict 'Local-First' philosophy. We do not collect,
store, or process your personal data or patient information on our servers. All data
remains on your device.
This application is designed to help healthcare professionals and parents manage neonatal intensive
care information with complete privacy and security. Your sensitive health data never leaves your
control.
1. Data Collection & Storage
All data stays on your device
No server-side data processing
No personal data collection
No patient data transmission
We operate with a strict 'Local-First' philosophy. This means:
- Patient information is stored locally on your device
- Medical records never leave your device
- We have no access to your data
- Your privacy is guaranteed by design
NICU Mate uses locally stored information only to provide its in-app informational and tracking features. The app is not a replacement for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
2. iCloud Synchronization
If you choose to enable iCloud Sync, your data is stored in your personal iCloud Private Database:

All data synced to iCloud is encrypted using Apple's security standards
Your Private Database
Data is stored in your personal iCloud account, not shared storage
No Developer Access
The developer has absolutely no access to your iCloud data
Multi-Device Sync
Securely sync your data across your own devices only
Important: iCloud sync is completely optional and controlled by you. You can enable
or disable it at any time in the app settings.
4. Data Security
Your data is protected by the device-level security features you have enabled:
Device Passcode
Protected by your device passcode
Face ID
Biometric authentication support
Touch ID
Fingerprint authentication support
HIPAA-Aware Design
Designed with healthcare privacy standards in mind
Recommendation: We strongly recommend using Face ID, Touch ID, or a strong passcode
to secure patient health information. Enable device encryption for maximum security.
Best Practices:
- Keep your device locked when not in use
- Use a strong passcode or biometric authentication
- Enable device encryption in your device settings
- Regular backup your device to prevent data loss
- Keep your iOS version up to date for security patches
NICU Mate may use device security features such as passcode protection, Face ID, and Touch ID. Optional iCloud sync is controlled by the user in app settings.
3. Third-Party Services
We respect your privacy. This application contains NO third-party tracking,
analytics, or advertising SDKs.
What We DON'T Use:
- No Analytics: No Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, or similar tracking
- No Advertising: No ad networks or advertising identifiers
- No Usage Monitoring: Your usage patterns are not monitored or recorded
- No Crash Reporting: No third-party crash analytics services
Your medical data and app usage remain completely private. We have no insight into how you use the
app or what data you store.
The source privacy policy does not describe paid features or payment collection for NICU Mate.
Users control whether iCloud sync is enabled, whether data remains only on-device, and what security protections are enabled on the device.
NICU Mate may involve information about infants entered by healthcare professionals, parents, or caregivers. The app is intended for use by adults and caregivers, not directly by children.
